Let’s meet Earlie and Retta Waller!
Their journey as Kinship grandparents began in 2023, when the Wallers took in their grandchildren following the devastating loss of one of the siblings due to physical abuse in their home.
With hearts already open, they then opened their home to the five grandkids to ensure they remained together in the midst of this unimaginable tragedy.
“In the face of overwhelming grief, they did not hesitate to step forward, offering stability and security during a difficult time,” an Arrow Spokesperson said. “Earlie and Retta Waller embody the very essence of love, resilience, and unwavering commitment to family.”
They went through the rigorous process of becoming licensed foster parents, determined to provide the best possible future for their grandchildren.
But they didn’t stop there.
Though they were retired after honorable service in the military, the Wallers took the Permanent Managing Conservatorship or PMC of their grandchildren, making their commitment to raising them official
This ensured the children could stay together and remain with family!
“They have not only helped their grandchildren navigate the pain of loss and transition, but have also created an environment where they can thrive,” an Arrow Spokesperson said.
Thanks to Earlie and Retta’s steadfast support, the children are excelling, engaging in extracurricular activities, thriving in school while finding joy and security in their new normal.
“The Wallers are the true definition of selflessness and strength, turning tragedy into a story of resilience, hope and unity,” the Spokesperson said.
