Arrow Spotlight: Heroes and Helpers Provides Christmas joy to Maryland Foster Youth

Arrow Child and Family Ministries was proud to take part in this year’s Heroes and Helpers event.

The Heroes and Helpers program, which began in 2009, expanded to Baltimore County this year.

Baltimore County police officers and firefighters teamed up with students on a cold Saturday for the event, giving children the opportunity to shop for friends, family and themselves.

Each student received a $100 Target gift card for holiday shopping before the group gathered for breakfast at the Hard Yacht Café.

“This opportunity worked its way to us like a Christmas miracle,” Tracey Coleman said. “Arrow became involved after volunteering with the program last year, and organizers recognized the opportunity to include Arrow schools and families in the expanded event.”

Arrow is grateful for the opportunity to serve in this event and to the wonderful organizers and first responders who made this event special for all youth involved.
