Empowering Children and Families Through Therapeutic Support
Providing the support families need to grow and thrive.
Our primary goal is to help children heal from trauma while strengthening the caregivers and relationships that support them. Therapy focuses on understanding what is happening beneath a child’s behavior and providing developmentally appropriate strategies to help children regulate, connect, communicate, and develop healthier ways of responding to the world around them. Our therapists work closely with foster caregivers and the child’s support team to create a consistent, connected approach to treatment. When children feel safe and supported, they are better able to learn, grow, and thrive.
Our Therapeutic Approach
Our clinicians use a trauma-informed, brain-based, and relationship-focused approach to therapy. Treatment is individualized to each child’s developmental level, experiences, strengths, and needs.

Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT®)
Using a brain-based understanding of development and trauma to guide developmentally appropriate interventions and support regulation, connection, and readiness for therapeutic work.

Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®)
Applying principles of connection, felt safety, and caregiver responsiveness to help children build trust and experience healthy relationships.

Play Therapy and Expressive Therapies
Providing developmentally appropriate ways for children to communicate, process experiences, practice new skills, and express emotions when they may not yet have the words to describe what they have experienced.

Trauma-Informed Interventions
Recognizing that behaviors often communicate unmet needs and that healing occurs within safe, supportive relationships.
Referral
All children placed in Arrow foster homes who receive the Treatment Family Foster Care, Human Trafficking, or Mental & Behavioral Health Service Package are automatically reviewed by Therapeutic Services for potential assignment to an Arrow therapist in offices where Therapeutic Services clinicians are available. If you believe a child placed in an Arrow foster home would benefit from Therapeutic Services, please contact the child’s Arrow Case Manager or a member of the Therapeutic Services team to discuss a referral for therapy. Our team will review the child’s needs and work with the child’s support team to determine whether Therapeutic Services are appropriate and available.
