The Brownwood team joined community members in San Angelo for Rally the Village, an event hosted by Open Homes Initiative, to inspire and mobilize support for foster care.
The evening featured keynote speaker Jason Johnson, author of “Re-Framing Foster Care” and a nationally recognized voice on foster care advocacy.
His message focused on the urgent need for foster homes and the power of community partnerships in changing the lives of children and families.
Open Homes Initiative was founded by Justin and Chelsea Smith, one of Arrow’s current foster families in San Angelo. Their mission is to partner with churches, equip them to support foster families and raise awareness of the challenges in child welfare.
Events like Rally the Village strengthen community understanding and fuel collaboration, which is essential for organizations like Arrow as we work to ensure that no child waits for a safe and loving home.
“The shared vision is bold and inspiring, a future where there is no longer a list of children waiting for families, but a list of families waiting for children,” an Arrow staff member who attended the event said.
Seeing the community come together with such passion gives us hope for what is possible. When we unite around children and families, real change happens.
