Arrow Child & Family Ministries is proud to celebrate the month of June as the 20th anniversary of Chief Executive Officer Scott Lundy with the organization. Over the past two decades, Lundy has been a driving force in the evolution of child welfare, transitioning through multiple leadership roles to his current position as CEO, where he continues to advocate for the sanctity of the family and the protection of children.
Since joining Arrow in 2006, Lundy has been instrumental in expanding the organization’s reach and deepening its impact.
His tenure is marked by a steadfast commitment to innovation in foster care and community-based services. Under Lundy’s leadership, Arrow expanded services in the East Texas region, forming 4Kids4Families to serve as the provider in the area. Arrow launched several programs and opened two schools in Arrow’s other operating location of Maryland, serving youth with advanced communication deficits.
Lundy has led numerous organizational shifts, such as growing Arrow’s revenue by more than 400%, and formed Arrow’s endowment which provides a sustainable source of funding for the organization.
A respected voice in the national child welfare landscape, Lundy has consistently championed policy changes and clinical excellence that prioritize the long-term well-being of children and families. A significant benchmark, Generations United Grandfamilies and Kinship Support Network recently designated Arrow a ‘nationally exemplary kinship practice.’ This designation recognizes the organization’s commitment and the intentional design of Arrow’s Kinship Straight Adopt (KSA) program, overseen by Lundy.
“Reflecting upon these twenty years, I am reminded of the incredible resilience of the youth we serve and the dedication of our staff,” Scott Lundy said. “Children do best when they are with a loving family and we plan to remain committed to family restoration.”
Lundy’s career at Arrow is a testament to his “boots-on-the-ground” philosophy. Having first served as Arrow’s Vice President of Residential and Foster Care/Adoption Services, then President and COO, and now CEO, he possesses a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced at every level of the child welfare system. This unique perspective has allowed him to lead with both empathy and strategic precision.
“Scott’s influence extends far beyond the walls of Arrow,” said Chief Development Officer Ophelia Bennett. “His legacy is built on the lives changed and the standard of excellence he has set for the entire industry.”
Lundy currently sits on several boards and committees, including, Board Representative for the Texas Alliance of Child and Family Services (TACFS), Partners for Children and Families Committee (PCFC) core committee member, PCFC subcommittee on community-based care, PCFC subcommittee on regulation, Children’s Commission of the Texas Supreme Court—a workgroup with judicial representatives on community-based care.
As Arrow looks toward the future, the foundation laid and built by Lundy over the last 20 years ensures the organization remains a beacon of hope for youth in need.
“At the end of the day, it’s about families,” Lundy said. “The Arrow team has a do-what-it-takes attitude when it comes to youth or family needs, and I see continued innovation and success in the years to ahead.”
Lundy’s dedication to child welfare stretches across states and decades. Arrow is incredibly grateful for Lundy’s two decades of service and more than 30 years of professional impact.
