Arrow Child & Family Ministries has been awarded the Harford Award for Nonprofit of the Year, presented by the Harford County Chamber of Commerce.
This honor awards recipients making a profound impact on business growth, service to the community, innovation, support of public and private education and a drive to enhance Harford County’s overall business climate.
Arrow’s Associate Vice-President Susan McLendon accepted the award on Arrow’s behalf during the chamber’s ‘Harford Award: The Night Stars Come Out’ event.
McLendon said our organization’s partnership with Harford County has continued to grow over the years, from expanding special education services to working hand-in-hand with the county to support children and families through foster care and community programs.
“Harford County extended an invitation to Arrow to come serve the students with the most special education needs, Arrow accepted that invitation; this began more than two decades of years of mutually seeing a need and meeting a need,” McLendon said. “This award is inspiring to reaffirm to Harford County that as long as there is a need, Arrow is steadfast in serving the county however we can.”
This recognition highlights Arrow’s ongoing commitment to Harford County, not only through the services we provide in special education, community-based care and residential programs, but also through the people we employ who call this community home.
We remain dedicated to working alongside local partners to meet needs, bridge gaps and strengthen the communities we serve together.
Arrow extends heartfelt gratitude to our partners at Harford County Public Schools, the Department of Housing and Community Services, and the Department of Social Services for their ongoing collaboration and support.
We also thank the Harford County Chamber of Commerce for this incredible honor and for its continued commitment to recognizing the vital role nonprofits play in strengthening our community each year.
Arrow is proud to be honored for these efforts; it serves as both a milestone and motivator, as we set our sights on continuing the work through our unwavering commitment to children and families across Harford County.
