Let’s meet Pauline Sinegal!
Arrow staff recently nominated Pauline Sinegal for Kinship Family of the year, staff stating that Sinegal exemplifies the meaning of sacrifice and unconditional love.
Sinegal’s journey with kinship begins with a call from Child Protective Services.
Child Protective Services reached out to Sinegal after her twin grandchildren were born with drugs in their system.
She didn’t hesitate, but rather stepped forward to take the twins and their older sibling into her home. This ensured they remained with family rather than enter the foster care system.
“She went through the process to become a licensed foster parent and is currently in the process of obtaining guardianship of the three children, demonstrating her deep commitment to their well-being,” an Arrow Spokesperson said.
Pauline’s love for her grandchildren is unwavering.
However, her dedication extends beyond the three siblings.
In addition to caring for the twins and their sibling, Sinegal has opened her home to other grandchildren not involved with CPS, making sure they too, remain connected to family.
“In total, she is raising six grandchildren and a great-grandchild, four of whom are under the age of five, while also providing stability for two teenagers,” an Arrow Spokesperson said.
Despite the challenges of raising multiple young children on a fixed income, Ms. Sinegal remains steadfast in her belief that family should stay together.
According to Arrow staff, Sinegal has made countless sacrifices to ensure her grandchildren grow up in a home filled with love, support and connection to their roots.
“Her strength, selflessness and dedication to keeping her family intact make her an outstanding kinship parent,” a Spokesperson said.
